Handyperson Scheme
Orbit East Handyperson service offers assistance with minor repairs or odd jobs at your home if you:
- are over the age of 60 or
- are disabled or have long term health problems
- live in the Norwich City Council local authority area
These are some of the examples of jobs that the Handyperson service can carry out:
- Fitting security and safety measures
- Fitting smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and alarms
- Replacing light bulbs or fuses and plugs
- Putting up shelves, curtain rails, curtains or pictures
- Small plumbing jobs like replacing tap washers, adjusting or replacing ball valves, seal baths and sinks and fixing leaking pipes
- Moving small items of furniture
- Fitting insulation tape around windows and doors
- Minor carpentry work such as re-hanging doors and securing loose floorboards
What will it cost?
- You will need to pay for the materials used (an estimate will be given before work starts)
- A small hourly charge for labour
- No separate call out charges or hidden extras
