HandyHelp
Orbit East HomeWorks' HandyHelp service offers assistance with minor repairs or odd jobs at your home if you are a homeowner or private tenant and:
- are over the age of 60 or
- are disabled or vulnerable and
- live in Babergh, Forest Heath, Ipswich, Mid Suffolk, Suffolk Coastal District Council, St Edmundsbury or Waveney local authority areas
These are some examples of jobs that the HandyHelp service can carry out:
- Fitting security and safety measures
- Fitting smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
- Replacing light bulbs or fuses
- Putting up shelves, curtain rails, curtains and pictures
- Small plumbing jobs like replacing tap washers
- Replacing toilet seats
- Moving small items of furniture
- Minor carpentry work such as re-hanging doors
Decorating & Gardening (as part of the HandyHelp service)
The HandyHelp service can also help with the following
Gardening – to help keep your garden tidy, we can:
- Strim or mow lawns
- Light pruning
- Weed & clear boarders, paths or patios
- Sweep paths or patios
- Remove or repair trip hazards
- Repair small areas of fencing & garden gates
- Remove debris or rubbish
Decorating – to refresh your decorations, we can:
- Remove wallpaper
- Make good minor defects to plaster and woodwork
- Prepare & paint walls
- Ceilings & woodwork
How much will it cost?
- You will need to pay for the materials used (an estimate will be given before work starts)
- A small hourly charge of £10 plus vat for labour
- No call out or hidden charges
